We were informed of Roel's passing too late. But we cherish and honor him. Last Saturday evening we had our festival. We observed a minute of silence for those who have passed away over the years. So, also for Roel. Over 10 years ago, perhaps even 20 years ago, we saw Roel and his wife Matty for the first time. An operation, looking death in the eye, and then waking up to Songs for Ireland. Etched in our memory. We cannot sing it without thinking of our faithful, most faithful Fan. Emotion, tears, and everything that goes with it. It is wonderful that we were allowed to come to Drenthe a few years ago. On behalf of the entire choir, ROEL, thank you for all the wonderful years that you were our most loyal Fan.
